3D Machine Control Models
3D Machine Control
3D Machine Control involves the integration of GNSS or Terrestrial positioning equipment with/onto earth working machines.
It can be fitted to just about any earthworks machine, typically dozers & excavators or graders, pavers, rollers etc.
3D Machine Control is used to accurately position the earthworks machinery based on 3D Digital Terrain Models (DTM'S) and with reference to GNSS or Terrestrial positioning systems such as a Robotic Total Station.
A DTM created from the project plans is loaded into the 3D Machine Control equipment on board the excavator/dozer/grader etc.
This serves as a real-time, 3D guide, to the operator or the automatic control system, as to the position of the bucket or blade in relation to the current location which is derived by the GNSS/Total Station receivers/reflectors and sensors on board the machine.
This ultimately displays a 'cut or fill the difference' between real world location and the DTM design on the control screen in the machine.
This allows for accurate grading of road formations, cuttings & bankings, excavation of foundations & pipe trenches for example.
Using your plans and requirements, we can produce DTM's for 3D Machine Control in a variety of file types to match your particular equipment manufacturer :
